Beginner’s Genealogy Seminars

Part I: The Basics
Saturday, November 6, 1:00-4:00 p.m., Redwood Room
Location: 2635 Homestead Road

A representative of the Genealogy Society will review the basics of getting started in genealogy and family history research—where to look for information, how to use basic genealogy forms and pedigree charts, and how to document sources found.

Part II: Internet & Census Research
Saturday, November 13, 1:00-4:00 p.m., Redwood Room
Location: 2635 Homestead Road

A Genealogy Society representative will show the types of genealogy websites that can be searched for free on the Internet and demonstrate how to use and interpret Census records for genealogical research. Sign ups are requested for both these free Beginner’s Seminars (handouts will be available): in the 2nd floor Heritage Pavilion at Central Park Library, or contact the Genealogy Society. RSVPs accepted beginning October 1, 2010.
