  Where:
Online via Zoom Meeting
Facilitated by Mary Boyle, this group seeks to learn more about all aspects of Irish genealogy research. This will be unlike other SIGs in its structure around the Family Tree Irish Research Guide by Claire Santry. This book is a very approachable guide to contemporary Irish research. You will be asked to read a chapter a month and encouraged to try out the recommendations on your own ancestors.
  • Aug 12th - Chapter 4: “Understanding Irish History”.
  • Sep   9th - Chapter 5: “Understanding Irish Geography”.
  • Oct 14th - Chapter 6: “Deciphering Irish Names and Surnames”.
  • Nov 11th - Chapter 7: “Civil Registrations”.

Zoom

To participate in a Zoom meeting, you need a device with a microphone. A desktop computer, laptop or tablet work best. A smart phone can suffice although it may be hard to see the slides on the screen.
