Are you interested in Irish Genealogy? Mary Boyle will be facilitating an Irish Genealogy Special Interest Group beginning in May. This will be unlike other SIGs in its structure around the Family Tree Irish Research Guide by Claire Santry. This book is a very approachable guide to contemporary Irish research. You will be asked to read a chapter a month and encouraged to try out the recommendations on your own ancestors. Join the group for discussion on the chapter.

May 13: Chapter 1: Discovering your Irish Heritage

Copies of the book are available for checkout at the Santa Clara City Library. You could also request that your own public library get a copy if it doesn’t have one. If you choose to purchase a book, I encourage you to support local book stores.

Think about what your goal is in joining the SIG and share it with Mary and Ed if you wish. The SIG email is .

Ground Rules for Discussion:
  1. Come with curiosity, a willingness to contribute and a desire to learn.
  2. Treat all participants and facilitators with courtesy and respect.
  3. Respect time limitations when sharing and do your best to ensure that everyone who wants to speak has time to do so.
